Travelling from Bangkok to Chiang Mai with Bangkok Bus Lines
Got up early in the morning, got ready and drank a tea. Walked to the nearby 7-Eleven and bought a few things. Checked-out from the hostel, booked a Grab bike to reach Mochit Bus station. Reached Mochit Bus station around 5:05 AM, my bus to Chiang Mai was at 6 AM.
Walked to counter number 14, showed my 12Go ticket voucher to the lady at the counter, she asked for my passport, I showed her my passport and she gave me the ticket. She told me that my bus will depart from station 57, so I walked to station 57. Mochit bus station is quite big, waited some time and then the bus arrived. Boarded the bus, my seat was 8D, a window seat on the upper deck.
The bus departed at 6:05 AM, the bus was air conditioned, relatively clean, and had a toilet in it. The bus had mobile charging socket, which was much needed for the long journey. The bus stopped around 10 AM for a 20 minute break, the bus picked and dropped passengers at stops along the route e.g. Nakhon Sawan, Kamphaeng Phet, Tak and Lampang.
The last leg of the bus journey crosses from a National park and an Elephant conservation centre. At 4:50 PM, I reached Chiang Mai bus station Terminal 3. Overall the bus journey was very good, booked a Grab bike to reach Green Sleep hostel, checked-in to the hostel and went outside to eat. I ate at a restaurant, run by people originally from Burma but settled in Chiang Mai from long time. Walked back to my hostel and took rest.
